We want to update it without tearing all of it apart all at one time. Our solution: bring in interior designer Linda Engler to come up with a long-range design scheme. We call it a "seven-year-plan."
We're going to handle the first year's projects. First up -- tear off the dark oak paneling in the vaulted, step-down living room. When it's off, we cover the walls with drywall and we turn our taper loose. We'll be back to paint, add new trim, flooring and furniture. |
