Our architect, Dan Nepp, describes the experience
of approaching the house.
"...as
you come to the road out in front, you see the house in it's entirety. On the
left side, you have these three dormers or gables that leads your eye to the front
entrance. And
as you drive in the driveway and get yourself re-oriented in the front drive court,
you come up on the first set of stairs which turn you and direct you out through
the colonade and into the landscape and the sky views on that side."
Dan continues, "then you're turned back again and re-directed
at the front door. As you come up near the front door, you are turned to the opposite
side and you look off at the landscape on the other side of the house.
So
now you've kind of embodied more of the land rather than just going from car to
the front door and you understand a little more about the house.
