In this series, the home office was used primarily to program the automated light
system. We did an entire show focusing on just the Home Office, and that information
is also on our site.
There are different ways to program the light system. We programmed ours on our
personal computer, and then downloaded the information into the system.
We
needed to connect the computer to the system controller. We mounted that inside
a cabinet in the office. From there, cables run to all the little keypads and
control modules in the basement.
Along with controlling the lights, you can also program
the keypads for different effects.
You
can have a setup for when you're eating, watching television, or for when you
go to bed. There is also a panic button that turns on every light in the house.
