Fixing a Bad Kitchen Layout

The kitchen featured in this four-part miniseries is proof that even new houses can come with bad kitchens. Dean and Robin talk through the design problems that plague the kitchen and create a design that better integrates the kitchen with the surrounding living areas. In addition to the usual kitchen renovation work--plumbing, electrical, flooring, cabinets, and countertops--they reframe the ceiling with decorative beams and install a coffered wood ceiling to help create smaller defined areas within the newly opened room.
