Preparations
Dean
and Robin prepare to finish a basement. They install a sump pump, an egress window,
attach framing to concrete walls, and re-route pipes under the concrete slab.
Part 1 of 6. Basement:
Framing and Rough-In
Dean
and Robin frame partition walls in the basement and supervise the installation
of the heating ducts, plumbing, electrical cables, and recessed lights. Part 2
of 6. Basement:
Insulation, Drywall, Fireplace
Dean
and Robin insulate for sound and energy, hang and tape drywall, and install a
direct vent gas fireplace. Part 3 of 6. Basement:
Cabinets and Carpentry
Dean
and Robin install the interior doors, wood trim, and cabinets for the basement
family room and bathroom. Part 4 of 6. Basement:
Office and Bathroom
Dean
and Robin install the plastic-laminate flooring, cabinetry and bookshelves in
the basement office, as well as tile and plumbing fixtures for the new bathroom.

Finishing Up
