About Faux Finish Expert Carie Weber

Carie has worked with us on a couple of projects now. We first worked with her on our Shingle Cottage project, where she demonstrated a range of finishes, including strie, striping, and smooshing. That turned out great, so we asked her back this year to help us out with our latest faux finishing project.

Carie's business, The Accent Studio, is based in Lincoln, Nebraska, but she travels around the country-and the world-for projects. Her work has taken her to London, England, where she worked on a historic castle that was being converted to flats; to Fort Myers, Florida, where she applied multiple finishes ranging from stone treatments to gunmetal and metallic effects on the ceilings, walls, and even some doors of a 4500-square-foot home; and to Minnesota and Iowa where she transformed paneled walls with a rich textured-leather effect.

Closer to home, she's worked on many exquisite homes in Omaha, Nebraska, creating old-world charm in wine cellars, sun rooms, and dance floors. She even fauxed an old concrete floor to resemble an ocean bottom!
